ASPIRE 2k19 Research Summit is one of the few platforms meant exclusively for undergraduate dental students to showcase their work as a budding researcher and scientist.
Dr. Vivek Narayanan, Dean, SRM Dental College, Kattankulathur, was the chief guest at the event.
Dr. Anisha Cynthia Sathiasekar, Principal of Rajas Dental College and President of Tamil Nadu state dental council was the guest of honor at the event.
The guest speaker was Dr. Chandrashekar Janakiram, professor and Head of Department at Department of public health dentistry, amrita institute of dental science, kochi. He delivered a lecture about the career opportunities of a dentist as a scientist.
The inauguration was conducted among the presence of the imminent chief guest, guest of honor, guest speaker, the General secretary of the Asan association, Mrs. shyamala jayaprakash, the joint secretary, Dr. Gowtham babu and the Principal of Asan memorial Dental college, Dr. Lakshmi Ravi.
208 students presented 64 scientific papers and 144 posters to 35 expert judges belonging to different specialities of dentistry. The judges came from various dental institutions across Chennai.
The research summit was an amalgamation of training researchers, receiving exposure, inspiring interest in research, acquiring and imparting knowledge in research.
