To mark the 34th National eye donation fortnight, NSS Unit of Asan memorial college of Arts and Science in association with Mugavari Eye Hospital, Medavakkam, organised a rally on 03.09.2019 from Medavakkam – Perumbakkam road to Pallikaranai to create awareness on eye donation. Mr.K.Sivasankaran, Inspector of police, Madipakkam traffic range was the chief guest. Dr. S. Ramanathan, Principal, Member – Syndicate, University of Madras and the chief guest flagged off the rally. Mr. D. Sakthivelan, Chiarman, Mugavari Eye Hospital, presided over the function organised in the college campus. A seminar and several competitions including essay writing, drawing etc were conducted to create awareness on the importance of eye donation. Mr. N. Babu, Panchayat secretary distributed the prizes to the winners. About 300 NSS Volunteers actively participated.
