Hackon’23

Hackon’23 A Mega inter-collegiate event was conducted on 23rd February 2023 in association with Hand in Hand Academy for social entrepreneurship at College auditorium.
Around 200 students from 36 colleges have enthusiastically participated and showcased their projects to a panel of judges, who evaluated the projects.
Teams from DRBCCC Hindu College won the first prize, SRM Institute of Science & Technology, Ramapuram won the second prize & St. Thomas College of Arts & Science won the third prize with cash rewards of Rs 15000/-.

6 students of III MCA attended the Seminar on “The Scope of French Language in Global Market” organized by Shift II French Department of Asan Memorial College of Arts & Science on 12.8.2014.
Soft Skill Spoken English Programme was conducted by the MCA students on behalf of YRC, ASAN College in Government Higher Secondary School, Pallikaranai for 3 days (11.08.2014 to 13.08.2014). 35 participants attended the programme and prizes were given to the best performers.
Two final year MCA students attended the seminar on “30 days Challenges” by Mr. Neil Prem, International Director, Future Possibilities, Cambridge,U.K on 27-8-2014 organized by Asan Business School.

One of the major challenges faced by the Management Institutes today is to develop the soft skills such as communication, team building, leadership, attitude and confidence building among the students to make them employable at the end of the programme. To meet this challenge, the institute conducted several courses and workshops on ‘Personality Development and Communication Skills’ during the year. To mention a few,

A majority of the students are well placed in the campus interviews and a good number of them are likely to be absorbed in the company’s in which they are doing their internships. The remaining are interested in setting up of their own business or Pursuing higher education in abroad. Several reputed companies such as Delloite, Indiamart.com., ICICI Prudential, Reliance Life Insurance, Capgemini, Sundaram Finance have visited the campus recently and recruited our students with attractive packages

‘Onachanda’ a grand shopping festival was organised by the Asan Institute of Management along with Enactus Club of the college to tap the entrepreneurial skills of the students, conducted on 23rd August 2023. Around 50 stalls were raised and it was a remarkable accomplishment with their enthusiastic participation. Various vibrant cultural programmes including traditional Kerala art forms like Thiruvathira, Onapattu and Vanchipattu were performed by the students of the college and AKG Public school.

WORKSHOP ON IPR

MBA department conducted one day international e-training programme on IPR with collaboration with ‘National Intellectual property awareness mission’ (NIPAM) on 23^rdJanuary 2023.

WORKSHOP ON HEALTH MANAGEMENT

To equip young minds with coping skills in leading a healthy life, the Department of Management Studies organized a One-day Workshop on “Health and Mind Management” on January 25, 2023. Aasaan. Jai Manicka, Varmakalai and Acupuncture Specialist was the resource person.

WORKSHOP with Specialization

“Education, like the mass of our age’s inventions, is after all, only a tool; everything depends upon the workman who uses it”. The work man in the field of education is a teacher.

To gain operational knowledge on the functional areas of their specialization, a number of workshops were arranged. These workshops were planned in a way to impart knowledge management and intellectual skills to facilitate the budding professionals. Successful corporate teams were invited to enlighten the students with their valuable insights.

AIM TO IGNITE 2K23

AIM TO IGNITE 2K23 A mega inter-collegiate was conducted on 15^th March, 2023. Various events were conducted for the under graduate students from colleges in and across Chennai. Around 180 students from various colleges participated in the events such as ADZAP, QUIZ, CORPORATE BIDDING, and TALENT SHOW. The events were organized to bring out the students hidden talents, and to get experience in conducting such Professional events.

The chief guest of the inaugural session was Mr. J.Raghunathan, Director – Alpharithm Technologies.

MAGMA 2K22

MAGMA 2022 a Inter-Collegiate Management Fest was organised on 19th October, 2022 at College Auditorium. Mr. Muneer Ahamed, Managing Director, Digital Track Solutions inaugurated the fest.
Competitions like Business plan, Business quiz, smart marketing, corporate bidding, paper presentations and channel Surfing. Post graduate students from 15 colleges have registered and nearly 300 students have participated in the events.
Kenneth Jeyaseelan. R. B, AVP-HR TCS, Head Talent Development (CBO) delivered the valedictory address and distributed the prizes. The Overall championship was bagged by AMET University.

ONA CHANDA

Ona Chanda – A Mega Shopping festival was conducted on 5th September 2022. It gave the students real time experience of entrepreneurial skills. Around 24 stalls were put up by the students of Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science.

VALUE ADDED PROGRAMME

The gap between the skills of formal education and those skills that the students need to build a future for them can be filled by providing employability skills. Hence AIM provides several value added programme.
Hand in Hand academy conducts 40 hours English communication enhancing programme for I year MBA and MCA students.
12 Hours value added training programme is conducted for II year MBA students in CV Enhancement, Placement interview and Group Discussion training, PPT skills and public speaking, in conjunction with knowledge Capital Investment Group.(KCIG)
