Asan Institute of Management Celebrated ONA CHANDA 2026 with Entrepreneurial Spirit and Onam Festivities Chennai, 24 August 2026: Asan Institute of Management (AIM), a unit of Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science, successfully organized “ONA CHANDA 2026” on 24th August 2026 at the college ground. Celebrated with the inspiring theme “To Ignite the Spirit of Entrepreneurship,” the event brought together the vibrant traditions of Onam and the innovative spirit of entrepreneurship, creating a colourful, engaging, and memorable experience for the students and the entire college community.

The celebration was designed to provide students with a practical platform to explore and demonstrate their entrepreneurial abilities, creativity, business acumen, leadership, teamwork, and decision-making skills. Moving beyond conventional classroom learning, the event enabled students to experience various aspects of running a business, including planning, product presentation, marketing, customer engagement, sales, financial management, and teamwork.

A major attraction of ONA CHANDA 2026 was the wide range of student-managed entrepreneurial stalls. Students enthusiastically presented innovative products, creative displays, food items, and business ideas, transforming the college ground into a lively marketplace. The stalls provided participants with valuable hands-on exposure to real-time business operations while encouraging them to think creatively, interact confidently with customers, understand market preferences, and make effective business decisions.

The event also featured the exciting Onam Bumper Lucky Draw, which added an element of anticipation and enthusiasm to the celebration. Lucky Draw tickets were made available at ₹50, with gifts worth up to ₹50,000, attracting considerable interest among the participants and visitors. Another significant attraction was the AMCAS Stall, where participants could book stalls and receive an opportunity to win a ₹5,000 cash prize, further motivating students to actively engage in the entrepreneurial initiative.

The cultural essence of Kerala was beautifully reflected throughout the celebration. The college ground was transformed with traditional Onam-themed decorations, colourful floral arrangements, festive motifs, artistic displays, and vibrant cultural elements. The overall ambience reflected the values associated with Onam—unity, prosperity, happiness, harmony, and togetherness—while creating a visually appealing and festive environment for everyone present.

Adding further vibrancy and personality to the event were the enthusiastic contributions of Mihitha and Vishnu Charan, whose presence complemented the celebratory atmosphere. Mihitha, with her creativity, confidence, expresive personsality, and distinctive style, brought an engaging and positive energy to the occasion. Her ability to connect with people and her enthusiasm added to the memorable character of the celebration.

Vishnu Charan also contributed to the event with his dynamic personality, confidence, positive energy, and engaging presence. Known for his enthusiasm, creativity, and willingness to take on new challenges, he brought a lively spirit to the occasion. His ability to connect naturally with people and participate with enthusiasm added further energy to the event.

The active participation of students was one of the strongest highlights of ONA CHANDA 2026. The entrepreneurial stalls not only encouraged creativity and innovation but also helped students understand the importance of customer service, communication, marketing, financial planning, collaboration, responsibility, and leadership. The experience provided an opportunity for students to transform their ideas into practical initiatives and understand the challenges and opportunities involved in entrepreneurship.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and created an atmosphere filled with celebration, creativity, collaboration, cultural pride, and entrepreneurial energy. The dedicated efforts of the student coordinators, faculty members, organizers, and volunteers played a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and successful conduct of the programme.

ONA CHANDA 2026 therefore emerged as more than just an Onam celebration; it became a meaningful educational and experiential initiative that successfully blended tradition with innovation and culture with entrepreneurship. The programme offered students an opportunity to celebrate the spirit of Onam while simultaneously developing practical business skills and an entrepreneurial mindset.

The successful conduct of ONA CHANDA 2026 reflected Asan Institute of Management’s continued commitment to experiential learning, entrepreneurship development, leadership building, creativity, and holistic student development. Press Report : Executive Workshop on “Capital Market Intelligence for Professionals” Held at AIM

Executive Workshop on “Capital Market Intelligence for Professionals” Held at AIM Chennai, August 11, 2026: Asan Institute of Management (AIM), a constituent of Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science, organised an Executive Workshop on “Capital Market Intelligence for Professionals” with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to the dynamics of the financial markets.

The session was led by Mr. Kishore, an experienced capital-market professional, who shared valuable insights into the nuances of the share market, investment strategies, market analysis and risk management. His practical perspectives enabled participants to understand market trends and the importance of making informed investment decisions.

The workshop highlighted the significance of financial literacy, disciplined investing and a long-term approach to wealth creation, particularly among young professionals. It also provided an opportunity for students to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world capital-market practices.

The interactive session witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students, who actively engaged with the resource person and gained valuable insights into the practical aspects of investing. The programme served as a meaningful platform for developing financial awareness and investment-oriented thinking among young learners.

More than 120 students from various colleges across Chennai participated in the programme and benefited from the expert session.

Press Report on YUVAA 2K26   

Yuvaa 2026, the annual mega inter-collegiate cultural festival of Asan Memorial College of Arts & Science, Jalladianpet, took centre stage on 18 February 2026. Students from more than 70 institutions throughout the city participated in different activities and performances at the event. In a variety of challenges, both on and off stage, the competitors displayed their abilities and creative brilliance in areas such as dancing, music, fireless cooking, bridal walk, and more. Participants gave their all during their performances, enthralling the audience with their enthusiasm.

After intense rounds of competition, the winners of each competition were announced and awarded with trophies, certificates, and cash prizes, celebrating their hard-earned achievements. The chief guest, Dr. I. S. Parveen Sultana, motivational speaker, shared inspiring words with the students, expressed her admiration for the talent displayed on stage and distributed prizes to the winners. Later, popular playback singers Mr. Abraham Nithya Pandian and Ms. Thavaseeli Dhanraj graced the stage, energizing the crowd and further enhancing the festive ambiance.

The presence of Mr. Gana Vinoth, playback singer, who was the special guest of the valedictory session, added to the atmosphere of the event. His charming presence elevated the event, infusing it with music and star power.

The students of Loyola College, Chennai, who showcased exceptional talent across multiple categories, bagged the coveted overall championship trophy.

As the curtains came down on the event, the excitement continued with a pulsating DJ Nite, where the students danced the night away, celebrating the success of the event in true festive spirit.

AIM Successfully Hosts Mega Intercollegiate Management Fest “AIM TO IGNITE 2K26”

The Asan Institute of Management (AIM), a premier unit of Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science, successfully organized its flagship Mega Intercollegiate Management Fest, “AIM TO IGNITE 2K26,” on 5 February 2026. The event stood as a vibrant celebration of innovation, leadership, and managerial excellence.

The fest was inaugurated by Mr. Suresh J, Co-Founder and CTO of Team Tweaks Technologies Pvt. Ltd. His inspiring inaugural address set a dynamic and intellectually stimulating tone for the day, motivating participants to think creatively, lead confidently, and embrace collaboration—key attributes of future business leaders.

The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from final-year undergraduate students representing 12 colleges across the city, with over 150 students competing in a series of contemporary and challenging management events. These competitions were thoughtfully designed to test participants’ strategic thinking, creativity, decision-making abilities, and managerial acumen. The fest provided an engaging platform for budding managers to exchange ideas, strengthen team spirit, and showcase their leadership potential.

The Valedictory Ceremony was graced by Mr. Sravan, Founder of the Chamber of Commerce for Elite Entrepreneurs (CCEE), Chennai, as the Guest of Honour. He felicitated the winners and participants and commended their professionalism and enthusiasm. His motivational address encouraged students to pursue continuous learning, excellence, and integrity in their managerial careers.

The Overall Championship was awarded to Asan Memorial College of Arts & Science, whose outstanding performance exemplified the spirit of teamwork, leadership, and competitive excellence that AIM TO IGNITE 2K26 aimed to foster.

The Asan Institute of Management (AIM), a distinguished unit of Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science, successfully organized its flagship event — the Mega Intercollegiate Management Fest “MAGMA 2k25” — on 24th October 2025.

The event was inaugurated by Mr. Karthee Vidya, Founder & CEO, Team Everest, and Volunteer Man of India, and Mr. Arul Arasan, Managing Director, Unicure Corporation, Chola House, Green Land Corporation. Press Report on ONANILAV – Onam Celebrations 2025 

Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science, celebrated ONANILAV – Onam Celebrations 2025 on 29 August, 2025 in the Asan auditorium. This year’s festivities were a testament to the spirit of the festival. A grand Pookalam competition and various other competitions were conducted with over 150 student participants from school and colleges. ‘Onachanda’ a grand shopping festival was organised by the Asan Institute of Management along with Enactus Club of the Asan Memorial college, to tap the entrepreneurial skills of the students. Around 35 stalls including food, cosmetics, gaming etc., were raised and it was a remarkable accomplishment with enthusiastic participation. Many vibrant cultural programmes including traditional Kerala art forms like Thiruvathira, Onapattu, Nadanpattu, Vanchipattu, Pulikali, Vadamvali, fashion show, folk dances were performed by the students of the college and the school. Mrs. Shyamala Jayaprakash, General Secretary, Asan Memorial Association inaugurated the Onachanda and shared the Onam message. Dr. Gautham Babu , Joint Secretary, Dr. Lakshmi Ravi , Director ,Asan Memorial Dental College and Members of Asan Memorial Association graced the occasion. Dr. T. S. Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science and AKG Public School, Chennai jointly organized a grand Onam Cultural Festival – PONNIN CHINGAM on 12 September, 2024 in the campus. This year’s festivities were a testament to the spirit of the festival. A grand   inter-departmental  Pookalam competition was conducted with over 100 participants from both the instituitions.  ‘Onachanda’  a grand shopping festival was organised by the Asan Institute  of Management along with Enactus Club of the college to tap the entrepreneurial skills of the students.  Around 25 stalls including food, cosmetics, gaming  etc., were raised and it was a remarkable accomplishment with enthusiastic participation. Many  vibrant cultural programmes including traditional Kerala art forms like Thiruvathira, Onapattu, Nadanpattu, Vanchipattu and folk dances were performed by the students of the college and AKG Public school.   Mrs. Shyamala Jayaprakash, General Secretary, Asan Memorial Association inaugurated the Onachanda and presided over the function.  Dr. T. Press Report on MAGMA 24

Asan Institute of Management, Chennai organized a mega Inter collegiate Fest – MAGMA 2K24 on 23rd October 2024.
The inauguration was graced by the presence of Mr. Sathya Jayaraman, Senior Manager, Capegemini, Chennai who delivered an enlightening inaugural address. Mr. Sathya Jayaraman eloquently elucidated the expectations of employers and strategies for students to adequately prepare for the challenges ahead.
The valedictory address was delivered by Mr. Ramesh Narayanan, General Manager, Shri Ram Chits India Pvt. Ltd. Chennai who also had the rectitude of distributing certificates to the participants. More than 100 students from 12 city colleges actively participated in this prestigious Intercollegiate meet, The overall championship was won by Sri Sai Ram College of Engineering, Chennai.
Dr. M. Jaya,Dean-Academics and Reasearch extended a warm welcome during the inaugural session and Dr. T.S.Santhi, Principal, Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science, offered felicitations. Dr.P. Parameshwari Associate Professor coordinated the event.

Press Report on 25th Graduation Day

Asan Memorial College of Arts & Science, located in Chennai, marked a significant milestone as it hosted its 25th Graduation Day ceremony on March 11, 2024. The event, held at the college premises, was graced by Dr. M. Selvaraj, State Information Commissioner of the Tamil Nadu Information Commission, as the chief guest.

In his address, Dr.M.Selvaraj congratulated the graduating class on their remarkable achievement of successfully completing their respective courses. He emphasized the importance of not only acquiring intellectual knowledge but also of inculcating human values, urging the graduates to become responsible citizens contributing positively to society. The highlight of the ceremony was the conferring of degrees upon 620 graduates from various departments. Additionally, the University Rank Holders from different academic disciplines were duly recognized and felicitated for their outstanding academic performance.

Dr. T.S. Santhi, Principal of Asan Memorial College, extended a warm welcome to all attendees, setting a tone of enthusiasm and celebration for the occasion. The ceremony was attended by faculty, staff, proud parents, and of course, the graduating students, who were the stars of the day.

The event was characterized by an atmosphere of joy, pride, and accomplishment, as students, faculty, and guests alike came together to celebrate the culmination of years of hard work and dedication and it was a grand success.

It was inaugurated by Mrs. Indira Revi, Member, Asan Memorial Association. Around 50 stalls were raised and it was a remarkable accomplishment with their enthusiastic participation. Various vibrant cultural programmes including traditional Kerala art forms like Thiruvathira, Onapattu and Vanchipattu were performed by the students of the college and AKG Public school.  The function was presided over by Mrs. Shyamala Jayaprakash, General Secretary, Asan Memorial Association. Dr. T. S. Santhi, Principal, Asan Memorial College welcomed the gathering. Dr. C.K. Revi, President, Asan Memorial Association, Dr. Gautam Babu, Joint Secretary, Asan Memorial Association, Mrs. Indira Revi, Mrs. Priya Anoop, Mrs. Niranjani Kishore, Members, Asan Memorial Association were part of the celebrations. Asan Memorial College of Arts & Science, Chennai-600100, organized the 24 th Graduation Day, on 25th March 2023. Dr. V. Bharathi Harishankar, Vice Chancellor, Avinashilingam Institute for Home Science and Higher Education for Women, Coimbatore, was the Chief Guest. Dr.T.S.Santhi Principal, welcomed the gathering. The Chief Guest in her address appreciated the graduates on the successful completion of their courses and also urged them to inculcate human values along with intellectual knowledge. Around 700 graduates received their degrees and University Rank Holders were felicitated. The event was a grand success.

The 29th Annual Sports Meet of Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science was celebrated on 16th March 2023. The Chief Guest, Mr. R. Balasubramani, Former Indian Volleyball Player & Manager, IOB , Mahalingapuram Branch in his address stressed on the importance of sports and games for a healthy lifestyle. Dr. T.S. Santhi, Principal, rendered the welcome address to the gathering. Mr.K.Giridharan, Director of Physical Education presented the Annual Sports Report. The Chief Guest delivered the Sports Day address and distributed the prizes to the winners of various games. The Individual Championship for Men was awarded to A. Tejas, III BBA and the Individual Championship for Women was won by S. Indhumathi of III B.Com (G) (Shift- II). The overall championship was bagged by B.B.A for Shift – I & B.Com (G) (Shift- II). The meeting came to a close with vote of thanks conveyed by Mr.C.Anandan, Director of Physical Education, with grand success.

The Women’s Day Celebrations of Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science, Asan Mahila was held on 08th March, 2023. Dr. Renuka Ramakrishnan, Senior Consultant Dermatologist, Leprologist and Social Reformer was the Chief Guest. Mrs. S. Meenakshi, Entrepreneur and eminent YouTuber of ‘Amma Samayal’ Channel was the Guest of Honour. Mrs. Raji Ashok, an auto driver was honoured for her selfless service to society. Miss. Vidyashree, a differently-abled achiever was recognized for exhibiting exceptional determination and confidence despite the odds. As a part of Women’s Day celebration, a series of competitions were conducted for the Non-teaching staff of the College and prizes were distributed. Mrs. Shyamala Jayaprakash, General Secretary, Asan Memorial Association presided over the function. Dr. T. S. Santhi, Principal i/c welcomed the gathering. The women staff and students also presented a variety of cultural performances that added vibrancy to the celebrations. The event was a grand success.

Press Report of Asan Video Awards- Drishya 2023

The 15th edition of the International Short Film Festival, Drishya hosted by the Department of Visual Communication of Asan Memorial College of Arts and Science was held on Friday, 10th February 2023 in the college campus. Mr. Mohan Govind, Director and Mr. Ashwin Kakumanu, actor from Pizza 3 movie were the Chief Guests. Entries for short films and documentaries from both Indian and International participants were screened at the festival. The best entries from each category were chosen by a distinguished jury panel consisting of veteran technicians from the film industry like Indian film actor and director Mr. Santhana Bharathi, Mr. Vinoth D Kumar (Associate Cinematographer, RRR Movie) and Mr. Ezhil Fernandes (Story Board Artist, Ponniyin Selvan). Winners were honored with attractive prizes and cash awards. The event was a grand success.
